About Us / Responsibilities
As the Borough of Bellmawr’s lead agency for redevelopment and brownfields environmental management, the BRDA works closely with the Borough’s Mayor & Members of Council, state agencies, private and non-profit developers, and members of Bellmawr’s residential and business communities to help the Borough achieve its development goals.
Pursuant to the New Jersey Local Redevelopment and Housing Law, N.J.S.A 40A: 12A- 8 and the Borough of Bellmawr Ordinance 09:16-17, the work of the Bellmawr Redevelopment Agency seeks to encourage the development & growth of a varied mixture of appropriate economic activities within its borders so as to increase available services; create additional employment; expand municipal tax base; remediate contaminated properties; improve and upgrade unused or inappropriately used properties and to provide for greater financial and economic stability in the future for the Borough and its citizens.
