One drip per second equals 60 gallons per week. What this means is if is cold water drips you are losing 60 gallons per week. When hot water is leaking, you are losing the hot water plus the energy it took to heat it. Don't let money go down the drain. Repair all leaky faucets immediately. It will save you money on your utility bills and stop the waste of a precious resource-water.

Repair leaks as soon as they occur:
  • 1/32" stream stopped--0-25 gallons saved per day
  • 1/16" stream stopped-100 gallons saved per day
  • 1/8" stream stopped-400 gallons saved per day

If you thinking of doing any plumbing work in your home, please check your MAIN Shut-Off Valve to be sure it works properly. If the valve does not work properly, notify a plumber and then call the Water Department so that we can be there to shut off your curb valve while your Main valve is being repaired. Please give us 48 hours notice prior to any work being done so that proper personnel can be made available. It is also important to label your main shutoff valve in case of an emergency so people in your home know where to shut the water off.
